Just Desserts began in 1999 in an effort to provide men with the opporunity to read quality literature and meet to discuss something other than "sports, tools, business or women".  From the beginning the commitment was to select titles that represented "the better angels" of the publishing industry.  While we respect "pop lit" to the extent that it encourages reading, we attempt to avoid it in our selections. In this endeavor, we have rarely failed.

During our first 10 years we have selected both fiction and non-fiction works with a decided perference for quality fiction. Our Reading List and the "Long List" of possible, future selections are available for review from the links above.

We meet on the second Tuesday of each month (except for 2001 & 2002), enjoy a homemade dessert by Beverly Leiser and then discuss and rate the book on a scale of 1 - 5. We hope you enjoy reviewing our choices.
